Transition to zero pollution
Imperial.Tech.Pitch: Transition to zero pollution saw researchers and inventors from Imperial showcase their technologies and innovations that are helping companies and sectors to transition to a zero pollution future. Ideas and inventions included changes to flight plans for aircraft, permeable anti-clogging pavement and bio-based surfactants.
Innovations in engineering with AI and Machine Learning
This event highlighted some of the AI, machine learning and data-driven technologies from across Imperial that are being used for applications ranging from wireless video transfer to electric vehicle charging infrastructure, planning new offshore windfarms and optimising drug development and production. There were also insights from industry leaders at Hitachi and Siemens’ Process Systems Enterprise.
Affordable technologies for an ageing society
Imperial.Tech.Pitch: Affordable technologies for an ageing society centred on the premise that within 20 years, there will be 25% fewer taxpayers to pensioners in the UK than in 2020. The needs of this ageing society will be increasingly expensive, so innovations now could save huge sums of money later. Inventions and research from Imperial’s experts at this event included new methods of osteoporosis treatments, wound healing technology and novel neural implants.
Resilient infrastructure
Imperial.Tech.Pitch: Infrastructure resilience brought together inventors from Imperial to present their technology solutions to improve and enhance infrastructure around the world, from sensing and systems security through to carbon neutral concrete, corrosion prevention and design thinking innovations.
